Volunteering provides an opportunity to share your talents and time with an appreciative community of neighbors.
Volunteering at Lutheran Home
The presence and dedication of volunteers is vital to the Lutheran Home mission: “empowering vibrant, grace-filled living across all generations.” We welcome volunteers ages 12 and up!
Provide a warm and inviting atmosphere and assist residents, staff and visitors as they shop in The General Store. Duties include: ringing up purchased items and displaying merchandise. It’s fun and rewarding!
Be a friendly visitor to a senior by providing companionship and conversation. Bring a book or experience to share! Good listening and conversation skills desired.
Enhance the lives of residents by assisting staff in planning or leading activities. Activities Associates are needed throughout the Home serving all levels of care. Sample duties: bingo caller, art therapy, trivia, arts and crafts, etc.
Escort residents needing wheelchair transportation to various activities within the Lutheran Home. Must be able to push a wheelchair. This is an opportunity to interact with many Lutheran Home residents! It’s fun to visit while providing escort service.
MEMORY LANE VISITOR
Opportunity to visit and interact with residents in various stages of dementia. Sample duties: engage residents in conversation, play games, read newspaper and magazines.
Become a part of our Sunday service by ushering, reading or assisting with communion. Vibrant altar guild is always looking for new members!
Join our warm and welcoming group as we conduct fundraising sales and donor appeals to provide some of the many “extras” that set the Lutheran Home apart.
